Brooks has released a new limited-edition shoe called Aurora-BL that promises to offer out-of-this-world cushion and gravity-defying softness for runners. The shoe is the latest innovation to come out of Brooks’ BlueLine Lab, a facility that quickly scales and leverages innovative technologies while venturing into the unknown.

Bryan Bhark, the senior developer of footwear innovation at Brooks, said that the BlueLine Lab uses the quickest path to develop advanced prototypes and release them quickly to the market, providing new experiences for all who run. The lab has previously developed the Hyperion Elite, Hyperion Tempo, and Catamount shoes and is now gearing up for the release of the Aurora-BL.

The Aurora-BL gets its nitrogen-infused roots from its BlueLine Lab cousin, the Hyperion Tempo, which paved the way for Brooks’ revolutionary cushioning process. The shoe’s DNA LOFT v3 cushioning, which offers a greater cushioning experience, was injected with nitrogen, giving runners the most amplified cushion experience yet.

Nitrogen molecule

Bhark said that nitrogen infusion allows Brooks to create distinct cushioning compounds that provide unique experiences depending on the type of run or result a runner is looking for. He added that DNA FLASH, found in the Hyperion Tempo, includes a smaller cell structure, offering runners a speed performance benefit, while the Aurora-BL’s DNA LOFT v3 technology obtains a larger cell structure to provide runners with a greater cushioning experience.

The Aurora-BL’s cushioning will make for softer, lighter, and more responsive landings on the run. The shoe’s unique decoupled midsole allows your heel and forefoot to move independently of each other, making it easier to move the way your body wants to. The shoe’s shaped heel and toe of the Glide Roll technology deliver smooth transitions, perfect for takeoffs and landings.

The Aurora-BL promises to take runners over the moon with its unparalleled cushioning and softness. Learn more about the Aurora-BL and explore the science behind DNA LOFT technology.
